Who can join the challenge

To join this challenge, you must meet the following requirements:

  • State of Wisconsin resident

  • Holds a valid permit or Driver's license

  • Over the age of 14

1-Download

Download our driving scoring tool—TrypScore

You’ll want to start by downloading the TrypScore app—our safe driving scoring tool that will help you in your journey to safer driving habits.

2-Account

Create a TrypScore Account

Create an account through the TrypScore app to start collecting Tryps and scores that will go towards the Safe Roads Challenge.

3-Code

Input your team join code on the app

Once you're in the TrypScore app, navigate to your profile page, click the Team Activation tile, and enter your team code. You can find your county and its designated code below.

4-Portal

Sign in to the Safe Roads Challenge Portal

Finally, sign in to the Safe Roads Challenge portal using your TrypScore sign in details. Here’s where you’ll find the leaderboards, challenges, and much more!

Make sure you have the correct TrypScore device settings

Settings
When setting up your TrypScore account, make sure you have the right settings in order for your Tryps to record.

  • Location - Make sure you set your location to "Always".

  • Motion & Fitness - Make sure you have it turned on as it allows the app to identify if you're driving. 

  • Battery Optimization (Android only) - Make sure you have the battery optimization setting to unrestricted.

  • Notifications - Turn your notifications on to stay up to date with your tryps. This allows you to select whether you were the driver and to let you know if you've won contests, gift cards, or other rewards!

TrypScore and the Safe Roads Challenge reward you for driving safely while keeping your personal information, data, and location safe, private, and secure!  All driving data is de-identified to ensure your personal information remains completely anonymous. With our privacy guarantee, your driving data is yours and yours alone. Share your scores only if you choose to!

What is the difference between TrypScore and the Safe Roads Challenge?

TrypScore is an app that you’ll need downloaded to your mobile device in order to record and score your driving! This is your personal home base for everything that you can do individually to earn high scores and rewards! The Safe Roads Challenge is where you turn it up a notch and compete on a larger scale with other teams across North America. Access additional driving information and compete for grand prizes here! 

What does TrypScore do with my data? I’m concerned about my privacy.

TrypScore was built with user privacy as our top priority. All driving data is instantly anonymized and we don’t keep or distribute your personal information. We have no ties to insurance and TrypScore focuses on your scoring being only yours!

Do I need to do anything for the app to know I’ve started driving?

TrypScore runs in the background and is totally hands off! You won’t need to do anything for the app to record your driving as long as your app settings are correct. Location should be set to “Always”, Motion & Fitness “On”, and for Android, Battery Optimization “Unrestricted”.

How much battery life and data does TrypScore use?

TrypScore uses an advanced wifi caching system to preserve your battery life and data. You may find a slight delay in Tryp processing until you’re back on wifi after your drive. You should experience very minimal battery and data use from our app!

How do I enter for TrypScore rewards?

There’s many ways to win rewards with TrypScore! In-app, try completing Challenges like the Weekly Mission or Daily Tryvia. You’ll also be able to collect Pyns after you drive that will progress your Badges towards prizes! On our Safe Roads Challenge Portal, we’ve got weekly prizes that can win you gift cards for meeting certain skill requirements each week!
